Exciting Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It’s a diverse, multicultural city which is home to some of the world’s tallest buildings such as the ADIA Tower, the Landmark, Hilton Tower and the Emirates Palace. If you book cheap flights to Abu Dhabi, make sure to visit the numerous parks and gardens which are ideal places to relax and have a picnic. All the family can enjoy visiting Heritage Park that has a historical Watch Tower providing panoramic views. This modern city has been planned with tourists in mind having open spaces, boulevards and busy shopping precincts that can be found in Airport Road, Sheikh Zayed Street and Khalifa Street. How about spending a day in one of Abu Dhabi’s football or cricket stadiums where you can mix with the friendly locals? Motor racing enthusiasts from all over the world fly in to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Marine Circuit, to see Formula 1 racing which takes place in late November or early December. Take a stroll down the Corniche, an over 6-km promenade to have a coffee, a snack and watch the world go by. There’s also a huge choice of restaurants that serve Ethiopian, Middle Eastern and European food. The kids will love a day at Yas Island, a water world theme park with thrilling slides, ravines and wave machines.
Getting around the city is no problem. Using local buses which run frequently is the easiest way to see what this fantastic destination has to offer. Taxis are quite cheap compared to many other countries. Why not arrange a hire taxi and guide for a day? A friendly taxi driver will be more than willing to take you to famous landmarks, shopping malls, parks, cafes and restaurants.
It’s about a 30-minute journey from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to the city centre. There are a number of public transport options available, the cheapest of which is by bus. Many hotels do provide their guests with free inter-terminal shuttle services. There’s also car hire 24 hours a day which can be arranged at the airport. Jump into a taxi, however do agree a price before setting off, as fares can vary.
