4. Kangaroo Island (SA)

6. King Island (TAS)

Foodies can follow their taste buds to King Island to sample the some of Australia’s most fresh and delicious produce – and make sure you don’t miss out on the delectable cheeses from the famous King Island Dairy. Once you’ve satiated your appetite, there are plenty of ways to burn off all that energy with King Island offering a plethora of adventurous activities including kite surfing, hiking, horse riding, diving, fishing and some spectacular surf beaches.

7. Lord Howe Island (NSW)

A World Heritage-listed island, perfect for nature-lovers, there is more to this island than meets the eye. Spectacular views are in store for hikers, while an underwater world awaits snorkellers and scuba divers. Lord Howe Island has some of the best dive sites in the world, and is home to at least 500 species of fish and more than 90 species of coral that light up the depths with their vibrant colours.

9. Fraser Island (QLD)

Stretching for 123kms in length, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world – and is a World Heritage-listed site. Fraser Island features spectacular ancient rainforests with a magnificent array of rare flora and fauna. The island has more than 100 crystal clear freshwater lakes, so you can take your pick when it’s time to cool off. Superb sand dunes made up of more than 72 different colours make the island totally unique and a perfect example of untouched beauty.
