Let the Glasgow Commonwealth Games begin!

Who doesn’t love a good old rousing sporting event, especially if said event is taking place in one of Europe’s top up-and-coming cities. But what’s a spectator to do when play ends?

Whether you’re in the city for the Games or what you’ve seen on screen has peaked your interest there’s plenty in the city to inspire.

Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, says over the past few decades Glasgow has emerged as a city rich in culture and style, with an array of acclaimed museums and galleries, stunning architecture, world-class shopping and dining opportunities.

Home to over 90 parks and gardens and with more green space per capita than any other European city it’s no wonder the city’s Gaelic name translates as ‘dear green place’.

“It is no wonder that Rough Guides named Glasgow in its top 10 cities to visit in 2014,” says Cantlay.
