I was pleasantly surprised at Sixt. I had not heard of them before and I had previous challenges with other discount rentals. This rental was pre-booked and well-organized to receive the car once I arrived. The car was clean and drove beautifully. Finding the return lot was a bit more challenging. More signs would be helpful, but I did find it on my first drive around. Overall a pleasant experience. FYI: It's quite a distance to get to the new Terminal A at Newark. Expect at least a 15-20 minute walk/shuttle after returning the car.

The car and the service were great. It's just the price which was very high!!!!!! Not sure I'll rent again from Sixt.

Check out and return took forever. Not enough staff for the volume of customers. On return No one in the return area and had to wait again at the counter behind people renting (seems like none of them had rented before and took a long time).

Car was fine. Pick up process no problem. Returning car to Newark was a fiasco; the signage was terrible. We circled a couple times trying to figure out where to go, but finally gave up and returned the car to Avis. They laughed and helped us. Still not sure what signs we missed!

The pricing was deceptive bordering on criminal

2+ hour wait in line to pick up at Newark, one employee behind the desk. Facility is a triple-wide trailer and it’s pretty grubby. No seating. I asked for a toll tag, but they charged me for the weekly unlimited tolls instead - cost me a fortune. I’m not using Budget again!

I was happy with the quality of service and simplicity of the procedure. I will not hesitate to contact Budget when next I need to rent a car.

I returned the car and asked for a receipt and they said I couldn't get one. I told them I don't mind waiting, and they said I'd be emailed within 15mins. 3 hours later I get a call asking if I'm going to keep the car another day, and I let them know I returned it 3 hrs ago, and they told me I didn't. I described the two guys behind the counter, as well as the woman I was speaking with, and they had to double check and when they called me back said I was good. 4 days later I get an email telling me that I had damaged the vehicle, which I hadn't and which is why I wanted in invoice immediately. They had the car missing for 3 hrs+ and somehow didn't notice any damage for 4 days? Now, I have to deal with them. Horrible experience.
